Bike to Break the Cycle is a fun, active and exciting way to raise money to support YWCA Central Massachusetts. This event is open to riders of all abilities and skill level who want to raise money to support YWCA’s domestic violence services programs and have fun in the process!

When you fundraise for YWCA’s Bike to Break the Cycle, you’ll support the continued and vital actions of YWCA’s domestic violence services program, which provides direct support to survivors of domestic violence, as well as community education and initiatives to prevent violence and promote healthy relationships.

How it Works:
Ride one of YWCA’s 12 spin bikes in our decked-out gym, complete with spin, recovery and refreshment areas. Want to use your own bike and stationary trainer? That’s fine, too—just bring them with you. The event is divided into 4, 45-minute time slots, so each rider will spend no more than 45 minutes spinning. An odometer will measure your distance, which will be logged by a volunteer at the end of your 45-minute time slot. A live DJ will play music, and professional spin instructors will motivate you to power your way through the event.

Each individual is responsible for raising a minimum of $250. We’ll provide you with a customizable  FirstGiving fundraising page that you can share with your social media contacts, family and friends so they can support your efforts safely and securely. Each rider will pay a $25 registration fee (which goes toward your $250 fundraising goal) to secure a time slot.

Get in the team spirit! Grab a group of friends, family or colleagues and ride as a team of 4-8 people. Your team will be allotted a bike for the entire 4-hour event. Team members will swap off at intervals determined by a team captain and teammates. Wear team colors and pick a team name. Stick around and cheer each other on. Have fun!

Each registered rider will get an exclusive event t-shirt, and all registrants and their donors are invited to an after party at the Beer Garden, where we’ll award prizes for the most money raised, most miles logged, and most spirited. There will be food and a cash bar.
