Nonprofit Receives $50,0000 For Exemplifying Love Taking Action In The Community
The grant has been essential in providing critical support to program participants and addressing the new, unique challenges COVID-19 presented to services and staff. This funding has allowed the YWCA to extend their reach and provide participants with resources, such as gift cards for food and cleaning supplies, as well as help staff transition to remote work without interruption of service.
“We are grateful for the New York Life Foundation’s investment in our organization and for Julianne Hertel, a New York Life agent, for recognizing Robyn Kennedy for her work in the community during COVID19, which brought about this grant, and will change many lives for the better,” said YWCA Executive Director, Linda Cavaioli.
The Love Takes Action Award program awards $50,000 to local nonprofit organizations, which are championed by New York Life agents and employees. Thirty-five community members from across the nation embodying Love Taking Action, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be honored. Each honoree selected a nonprofit to receive a $50,000 general support grant from the New York Life Foundation.
