YWCA TO OFFER FREE SWIM LESSONS TO WORCESTER CHILDREN

The Non-Profit Is Set To Kick-Off Summer SPLASH Program July 12

Worcester, MA – YWCA Central Massachusetts is proud is announce the return of their Swim and Play, Aquatic Safety and Health, SPLASH, program for youth ages 7-12 this July.

The program will teach life-saving water skills in a fun, supportive environment and will run from July 12 to July 29, 2021. Lessons are twice a week on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at our downtown, Salem Square facility.

In addition to swim lesson, this comprehensive program offers water safety instruction for parents and guardians as well as provides participating children with summer swim memberships to continue practicing their news skills.

Statistically, African-American and Hispanic children drown at rates much higher than their white peers. SPLASH was developed in 2016, as a direct response to this disparity.
