YWCA Worcester Candidate Forum

Nonprofit to Host City Council and School Committee Forums

YWCA Central Massachusetts is set to host a three-part candidate forum, Worcester Renaissance: Center Equity in a Time of Change, this October which will facilitate candidate discussion around themes and topics most important to the Worcester community.

“Local elections have the power to address the issues that our communities face daily. Yet, they have the lowest voter turnout year after year,” stated YWCA Executive Director, Deborah Hall. She continued, “From our school curriculum to our road conditions to health and housing, it’s at these elections we can come together at the polls and begin to shape a better, more equitable future.”

The candidate forums will be hosted at YWCA’s Salem Square facility from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The dates are as follows:

  • City Council At-Large: October 13, 2021
  • City Council District: October 18,2021
  • School Committee: October 20, 2021

The event is free and open to the public. In accordance with YWCA’s COVID-19 policies, this is a masked event. All attendees are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. Seating is limited. To ensure all Worcester residents have access to the forums, the event will be livestreamed on Facebook and recorded for future viewing.

Tickets can be reserved at ywcacm.org/worcester-candidate-forums.
