YWCA Announces New Board President
YWCA Central Massachusetts is pleased to announce the election of Monica Thomas-Bonnick to a two-year term as President of the agency’s Board of Directors. Monica is Vice President and Lending Officer at Webster Five and serves as the Executive Director/Treasurer of the Webster Five Foundation. She has served on the YWCA Board since 2019. Thomas-Bonnick will lead the 23-member board, which sets strategic direction and policy to guide the YWCA’s work in eliminating racism and empowering women.
Monica brings a wealth of experience to her new role, with over 28 years in the banking sector providing financing solutions to for-profit and non-profit businesses. Her previous roles include Auto Group Credit Officer for Santander Bank and SBA Credit Approval Officer for Chase Bank in Dallas, TX. She has also held similar positions at Bank of America, Fleet Boston, and BankBoston First Community Bank in Boston, MA, Fall River, MA, and New York, NY.
In addition to her banking experience, Monica was a CFO of a non-profit organization herself, as well as a Crain’s New York “Business 40 under 40,” a Worcester Business Journal “Power 50” and “Outstanding Woman in Business” honoree. She earned her B.A. in Finance from The University of Oklahoma and her M.B.A. from Simmons College Graduate School of Management.
